Our Story

The Black Sheep Bar & Grill is owned and operated by Daniel Moffat (Head Chef), Casey Jacobs and Hugh & Peta Clavis.

The Black Sheep is situated on Plummers Point Road just off State Highway 2 approx 17km north of Tauranga.  The restaurant features two spacious indoor dining areas and a very large outdoor area which includes gazebos, a stage area, outdoor fires and a pizza oven. Great for soaking up the warmth on a sunny day!

Having only opened in December 2015 it is constantly evolving and is fast becoming a meeting place for locals and visitors whether for a quick coffee, a long lunch, or dinner & drinks with friends.

Daniel, Casey, Hugh & Peta all have a passion for community. They live locally and therefore where at all possible buy local, employ local and support local.  They believe that this will create a domino effect and locals will in turn support their restaurant.

It’s the great setting, consistent high quality and variety of food, excellent coffee and passionate staff that will keep everyone coming back.
